What We Believe

Our mission is to enhance people's lives and improve the world we live in.

We believe that the following elements are important for sensitive and responsible design:

Environmentally Responsive Land Use: Integrated building design and surrounding land use are fundamental to creating productive and meaningful for people to live in the present and future. We can preserve agricultural land, wildlife habitat, and unique areas while maintaining our current quality of life.

Community Design: Design for social interaction and involvement of interested and affected people in the design and planning process is essential to creating an environment which nurtures people's lives.

Interactive Design: Client participation, teamwork and careful consideration in all aspects of the design process is fundamental to designing livable and meaningful places appropriate for building occupants.

Energy and Resource Efficiency: Energy and resource efficiency conserves natural resources, minimizes cost and provides optimal comfort for the present and future.

Healthy Buildings: Sick buildings, inadequate air quality and environmental illnesses are problems that increasing numbers of people are concerned about. Using building materials and mechanical systems which reduce toxic chemicals and are healthy to live and work in is technically and financially achievable.

Building Durability: Energy conservation and our northern climate contribute to complex moisture problems causing building deterioration and health issues. Careful moisture detailing is critical to the design of long lasting buildings.
