An interdisciplinary team of faculty at Saint Lawrence University had spent several years researching and developing ideas for a field station for ecological studies associated with the Little River and surrounding wetland areas. Their goal was to develop a model environmental building using sustainable technologies and teaching others how to build better buildings for people and the environment. We are working with them to design a building with minimal energy consumption and maximum use of natural daylight and solar energy, while serving diverse technological requirements. Construction will occur in the summer of 2002. |
